March 29 vs Bombers
We won 11-7 in 5.5 innings against the Bombers. We effectively stole bases and our players listened well . The Panthers did well with the pressure of being the first game of the season. Devin pitched 5 full innings against Noah, had a redeeming triple with bases loaded. The thing that I'm most proud of, is that our bottom of our lineup scored 7 of our runs. Lennox, who is a first time player, made contact both times up, recording one hit and scoring one run. Cameron, who caught 5 innings for Devin, came in in the 6th inning and was our closer for this game. Another outstanding play came when Nicholas, a first time minor baseball player, with bases loaded, fielded a ground ball and got the bomber running from first to second, to end the inning. Anthony, who had struggled in our "shared" practice, had two doubles and 4 RBI's. Logan fielded a hard hit ball at second, but bobbled it, then threw to first late. His brother Gannon was playing first, still attended a tag on the runner who had stepped towards second. In a dramatic fashion, the field umpire called out the runner, a huge play to end the inning. Another outstanding play came when Riley caught a pop fly at Shortstop and then made double play when the runner at first failed to tag up. Gabe caught for the first time in six inning for Cameron and did a great job behind the plate. Christian and Paul stole bases in our win.
